Behind the Scenes Baja: Episode 7
Monday, 25 April 2011 09:40

Next stop? Tijuaua, baby. Having reached the halfway point of the trip, we caught a plane to the largest city in Baja and set out for three restaurants from chef Javier Plascencia, whom Rick calls "probably the most notable chef in Tijuana right now."

Having come from a family of restaurateurs, Javier is pushing the envelope for what food can be in Tijuana.  From the very modern Mision 19 (recently featured in the New York Times) to his revitalization of one of Tijuana's most storied restaurants, Caesar's (where the Caesar salad was invented!), we were definitely surprised at the food we found.

If you thought Tijuana is just known for its tacos, see this episode and think again!
