Serves 6

  • 2 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 small red or green bell pepper, seeded, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons Frontera Chipotle Hot Sauce to taste
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) pinto beans, drained
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cook bacon, bell pepper and onion in medium-size ovenproof saucepan until onion is crisp-tender, 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in tomato paste, 1½ cups water, hot sauce, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce until sugar is dissolved. Stir in drained beans.  
  2. Bake, uncovered, until glazed and browned on top, 45 minutes to 1 hour.
