Yes, I’m an enthusiastic believer in spending a day making a huge pot of mole poblano for a party, or digging a pit to roast pork cochinita pibil-style wrapped in banana leaves, or setting up a street stall in my backyard to do short-order cooking all afternoon for friends and family. But let’s be honest: how often can any of us tackle parties like those? Probably not nearly as often as we want to have people over.

That’s why I’m happy to introduce you to FronteraFiesta.com from the Frontera Family. This site is devoted entirely to entertaining with the incredibly appealing flavors of the Mexican kitchen … well, without having to dig a pit or spend hours and hours in the kitchen.

So you might say this is a great collection of easy entertaining recipes (and menus that include them!). But that would be doing them a slight disservice, because these recipes don’t have that quick-and-easy taste, a taste that can be less than satisfying. And there's a reason they taste so good: many weave in Frontera salsas, sauces and seasonings—all preparations that are made in small batches from fresh ingredients using ages-old techniques that create that flavor we’re all after.

I turn to these recipes often. I hope you like them as much as I do.
